MEET THE THERAPISTS
I was inspired to become a massage therapist, after I fell in love with the healing art, when I received my first massage. I have been practicing massage therapy, since graduating from Mountain Heart School of Massage, Crested Butte, CO, in 2005. I hold a dual degree in Environmental Studies and Chemistry from Western State Colorado University, where I also studied Anatomy and Physiology, and had the excellent opportunity to work with cadavers. I have received continuing education in Osteopathic Massage Techniques, Ortho-bionomy, Sports Massage, Indian Energetic Massage, Reiki, and Student Teaching. I love being a massage therapist, because it is a living that integrates my knowledge and shares love and happiness with the world, by helping people feel good. When I’m not giving massage, I enjoy being outside: mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and camping (of course), and I also enjoy, drawing/painting (artist of Mountain Express bus, “One Love”), volunteering, cooking, reading and generally trying to understand more about the world we live in.
I started my journey into health and massage when I was eighteen. I attended at The Healing Arts Institute in 2010 and was instantly drawn to helping others heal. I grew up active, playing hockey and snowboarding, so my interest naturally went towards sports related massage. I've used my career to travel the world, living and working in Silverthorne, Fort Collins and New Zealand. I've extended my studies in Thailand and with many courses in Denver. I love to try and and continue my education as often as possible to constantly bring in new techniques to my practice. My favorite part of massaging is the happiness you bring people when they no longer have the mental or physical discomfort they came in with. I enjoy going to work everyday presented with new challenges to overcome, it keeps me on my toes and makes work fun and fresh.

Emily fell in love with skin care after learning from a fellow esthetician about the power of helping and healing. Born and raised in Northeast Colorado as the youngest of three children, she moved to Denver in 2005 and began working at The Inverness Hotel spa. In May 2008, she graduated from Pickens Technical College in Aurora, Co., with her esthetician certification. That December, in the middle of a blizzard, she packed her bags and moved to Crested Butte to pursue a job at a local spa.
Today, Emily is certified in microdermabrasion, chemical peels, LED Therapy, lash extensions, lash lifts, brow and lash tinting, and full body waxing. She loves customizing her care to each individual client since every person is different and presents new challenges to solve and overcome.
Her passions include movies, softball, good food, camping, hiking and traveling, but most of all, her best friend and greatest adventure buddy, her dog Miss Flo.
George has worked with his hands for the majority of his professional career. Cape Cod, Massachusetts is where his career as a professional gardener began, creating and maintaining residential gardens. The love of the outdoors led him to Maine, where he continued gardening professional for a number of years. Initially, his interest in cycling led to his first massage, thus the idea of actually practicing massage was born.
It was an intuitive and logical move to continue working with his hands in this manner. George followed this interest and moved to Colorado, a place that he wanted to return to. Studying massage therapy at MountainHeart School of Bodywork landed George in Crested Butte where he now practices. When not working with clients, George can be found experiencing the beauty that Crested Butte has to offer…and petting any dog that may cross his path.
Born and raised in Michigan, Grant came to the Gunnison Valley in 2002 to attend Western State College and has lived here on and off since, leaving periodically to pursue his passion for travel. In 2015 he found his true calling in massage and bodywork when he decided to attend Mountain Heart School for Massage in Crested Butte. Graduating in 2016 and fueled by a deep desire to help people live better he began working immediately to alleviate the pain and stresses of his clients. With a belief that a healthy body makes one a happier person he specializes in Neuromuscular, Deep Tissue and Swedish modalities to address the different desired outcome for everyone he works on. Always seeking out the root of any pains that the body might be experiencing his goal for every session is for the client to walk out feeling like a new person with a better understanding of their body and how to maintain it. Looking to learn more about the human body he continues his education by regularly assisting in classes at Mountain Heart School. In addition to continuing education Grant calls strongly on an intuitive feel for doing bodywork that makes every session personalized and unique to the one receiving it.

When given the opportunity Grant can be found skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, surfing, backpacking, rafting, practicing martial arts, yoga, chi gong and just about anything to stay feeling young and alive. I moved to Crested Butte in the fall of 2007 with 12 of my girlfriends after graduating from Colorado College. I had intentions of being a ski bum, for a season, maybe two. One by one, my girlfriends moved out of Crested Butte but I remained and I am so grateful to call this town home.
There is something about this town. The beauty of the mountains, the thriving sense of community, the passion for adventure that makes Crested Butte one of a kind. This place has given me so much and there is always an urge to give back.
During my 2nd winter in Crested Butte, I became involved with the Adaptive Sports Center. Here, as an instructor, I help to provide therapeutic recreational opportunities to people with physical and mental disabilities. It was working at the ASC that inspired me to investigate other alternative healing modalities.
In 2015, I attended the Mountain Heart School of Massage Therapy, here in Crested Butte. Graduating in November in 2015, I hold a certificate in Neuromuscular Therapy. I enjoy using various techniques to create a specialized massage for each individual client.
Outside of work, I enjoy long hikes with my dog Hank, boating the various rivers around the southwest, sand and ocean waves, and drinking coffee in foreign countries.

Helen's love of wellness in the body started 20 years ago. Graduating from college with a BS in Health Sciences in Athletic Training, medically taking care of sports teams, she knew there was more to wellness and healing than just ice and exercise. Even in the training room she used her hands to intuitively work with injuries and help athlete's heal faster. In 2005 She attended the Northwest School of Massage in Seattle where she graduated with over 500 hrs of training. Since then she has worked in many settings with many clients. Her intuitiveness as well as Reiki training helps her to connect with her clients as well as hold tremendous space for them while they relax and heal.
